Poker on television

I have seen poker in sports channels like ESPN and Fox Sports Net. Sure, it takes stragedy know what you are going to bet, but most of it is just pure luck. It is not really interesting watching cards on the table. It is like watching X's and O's on the chalkboard instead of actually watching players playing on the field. The players do not have to be athletic or in shape. Anyone with a pulse and a mind can play poker. Heck, there is a hot chicks (i.e. Jennifer Tilly) who plays poker. And is not really a sport. It is more of a game you can play at home like Monopoly.

If poker is not a sport, then why broadcast it on ESPN?
